My therapy is not covered by insurance because I do not work within the DSM system. My rates are low compared to other therapists. This is a conscious choice because I think it should be accessible to as many people as possible. This may mean that I may not be able to give you a spot right away and that you will first be placed on a waiting list, which I try to keep as short as possible.

INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS

If my method and vision resonate with you and you want to follow individual sessions? You are welcome to make an appointment for an introductory meeting, which is free of charge and takes about 20 minutes. The purpose of this meeting is to see if you and I click, if you have confidence in my approach and if I can help you. Because the relationship between you and me is the foundation. We will not go into detail about your request for help in this meeting.

After the introductory meeting, you decide whether you want to continue. If so, we will schedule the first session, which mainly consists of further exploring your current circumstances and request for help. I ask you to fill in an intake form online in advance.

The following sessions have a plan and structure, but you are and will always be leading. This makes it difficult to estimate how long the collaboration will last, forcing always has the opposite effect. Some parts will go very quickly and others may take longer. A session normally lasts 60 minutes, but sometimes that can be too much or too little. We adjust how we set up the frequency and duration to what we encounter and works best for you.

I am very cognitively minded, and of the generation that considers seeking the help of a therapist taboo. Because of this, I look at the work of a therapist with enormous skepticism.

My skepticism already lessened after two sessions because I saw real results: my fears disappeared, I could sleep again, I learned to get in touch with the emotional world inside me, so that I gradually learned to recognize my automatic behavior and deal with impulses on certain triggers.

Today I can say that I have rediscovered my confidence and self-esteem, my work-life balance, as well as my cognitive-emotional balance, with the intention of continuing to work on it. I could not have achieved this without Nikki’s professional and warm approach.

She’s is not like other therapists; not focused on investigating and explaining things from the past with the intention of determining my behavior today by working on it cognitively. But in trauma healing (although this is a big word, it is also about minor injuries that led to certain behaviors today). Healing the trauma puts the focus back on the “self” in me that is in control of what happens, that takes control of how I behave.

Nikki is very professional in her approach. She believes in what she does, even if it is a bit against the grain of our society. She is very good at what she does: through IFS she tackles the real issues, without you getting the feeling that she is doing that. There is a clear trajectory. Moreover, as a person she is also a very warm personality who really gives herself completely and is willing to go the extra mile to see her client grow. She is also honest and will tell you if she feels it doesn’t seem to be working.
